Connection with the Natural World is an integral part of the process of rejuvenation and New Zealand offers the perfect environment to foster awakening and personal growth. This will benefit you, your family, friends and colleagues in your own environment.
Our tours give you the space to clear your mind and become absorbed in your natural surroundings. We don't hustle you between tourist attractions in a big, anonymous group. Our tours are small and we aim to tailor them to your individual needs as much as possible. If you need time to be alone, to meditate or walk, we will take you to the most beautiful places in the world where you can do that.
This isyour time for you.Whether you prefer to spend time learning spiritual practices, to walk in deep forests with a guide to the Maori world of myth and healing, or simply relax on the deck with a cocktail watching the sun set, we will find time for you.
Each tour begins with a leisurely exploration of the coast of our 'Winterless North' with its necklace of white sandy bays and jewel-like islands. Despite its beauty, this region is far from the madding crowd, and still maintains vast hinterlands of majestic Kauri forests. Next we head to the South Island, a sparsely populated land of fjords, glacier carved lakes and valleys, surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges.
OUR WELLNESS ITINERARY FOR 2009
Day 1: Plan to arrive in Auckland today. This evening we will have dinner with the rest of your group.
Day 2: Today we head North to the Bay of Islands via Whangarei. On arrival we will familiarise ourselves with the township of Paihia. Later we will have a conducted tour of the Waitangi Treaty House and grounds.
Day 3: This morning our group will take a cruise of the Bay and journey 'through the hole in the rock' (Piercy Island). On the way there will be a chance to see dolphins and make an island landing. The rest of the day is free for relaxing.
Day 4: Our last chance to enjoy the Bay before we head across to the West Coast and the Hokianga Harbour. Our beachfront hotel looks out on spectacular sand dunes and harbour entrance. Enjoy the sunset!
Day 5: Fancy a harbour cruise with local guides? Want to toboggan down sand dunes? If not, relax at the beach or take a walk in this beautiful, remote area. Tonight we take a walking tour into sacred Kauri Forests to meet a 2000 year old giant Kauri tree and search for nocturnal birds like the native Kiwi.
Day 6: Time to return to Auckland via the Matakoe Kauri Museum- this will tell you much about the history of The Far North. Later this afternoon we will catch our flight to the South Island and the garden city of Christchurch.
Day 7: We join our coach for a trip North along the East Coast to Kaikoura. Here we will locate the Seal Colony and take walks along the ocean shoreline.
Tonight a chance to sample some of the local seafood.
Day 8: Time to climb aboard our launch for the Whale Watch cruise. Cameras at the ready! We will also meet great numbers of dolphins and seabirds such as the Albatross. This afternoon you may like to tour the area with Maori guides or just explore on your own.
Day 9: Now it is time for us to head inland to Hanmer Springs- a small town famous for its geothermal hot pools. Time for a bush walk followed by a relaxing soak!
Day 10: On your penultimate day there is an opportunity for some optional exta activities: bush walks; hot pools or horse trekking. For the more adventurous: quad biking; jet boating; bungy jumping or mountain biking.
Day 11: One last opportunity for a morning walk, horse trek and soak in a hot pool. This afternoon we shall return to Christchurch for our farewell dinner.
Day 12: Alas the organised tour is at an end. If you have more time available you may wish to head for Queenstown and some extra activities. We can book you in to our exclusive retreat centre (Koru Villa) for some indiviualised R & R (see photo gallery).
